Christmas

Im looking out what I have for my Christmas dinner table. I love my dinner plates I found second hand for only a few pounds they are stunning! and my old cutlery I have collected for a few years now I polished it all this morning with that cheap "pink stuff" paste. I handmade my napkins last year so this year I bought these plain black Joanne Hope ones from JD Williams they are in the sale at a £5 .  I'm really enjoying doing my Christmas décor this year...just doing a wee bit at a time and when it suits me. I haven't got the living room decorated yet and I might not I will see how I feel. We will be in the kitchen eating so as long as its festive in there. 🙂

Just a wee bit of gold sparkle up in the top hall that could all change if I find some more goodies 🤣

My very first Santa claus and I love him I paid £1.49 for him out the charity shop now I think hes vintage!!!

 I quickly popped into my local charity shops today and found these wee metal gold envelope tree hangers. I changed out the cheap rope for some gold chain...not bad for £1 for 2 🙂. I really do need a tree to hang all these little lovelies from!!🤣

My charity shop finds from the other day. A wee gold light up house 50p and a couple of light up trees £2 and £1... perfect for my gold Christmas hallway. 🙂

Christmas Hallway 2023

I had a few spare hours today so I played around with the table setting...I cut up an old rug for my centre piece and made a nice wee tray from some scrap garden wood for my centre piece. I antique waxed the wood and  added some handles I found in a second hand shop a few months ago..JD helped me shorten the wee handles as they where to long .😊 I think it will be lovely when its all dressed 🙂

I found 5 of these baubles in the chairty shop today. They are really have and have a gorgeous Mother of Pearl look of them. I got them for a few pounds....

I couldn't sleep last night so I sat and wrote a wee Christmas chalk message in my faux fireplace 🙂

Re-using your Christmas decor: Ive had him for a few years (I didnt have a before pic but the one below is more are less what he looked like)...I stripped off his beard n stuff and added some metal fixings . I painted him black and gold that year....I needed him white this year .

I found this wee metal wall sign in a charity shop a few months ago....I actually put it back 3 times before I decided to pay for it! £2.00 I got it for im glad I picked it up its lovely. I thought how apt when you look in the mirror have you been Naughty or Nice? I know I haven't …menopause has made me horrible!!!😄 I'm lifting this mirror a bit higher its way to low :)

Its that time for me..Time to put the decs away!  I have doing so much decorating I will have to give them all a good shaking outside before I put them away, the feathers are weighed down with dust!!

The place is going to look so cold without them...time to get the fairy lights out and sparkly tea candle holders!!!

A few wee trees in the Kitchen..not much...plenty fairy lights gives it that Christmas sparkle!

 

My minamilist Christmas...its been very relaxed..completely stressed myself over the Halloween crafts...!! Never again hahaha

 

 Not much colour at all..but its still very pretty!!

 Ive treated myself to a mirrored ball...I just fell in love with them over the last few months!!

I really havent put much effort at all in this year..at the moment im out of ideas and isnpiration..I think I overdone the Halloween crafts and emptied the creative bank!!

Sunshine & Sparkle

 

Gabes dog basket all finished..total cost £6.00..I bought 2 cheap doggy christmas socks and opened one to use each chewy seperate..I re-washed some of his favourite dog toys hahaha...Used some tree in the garden as filler..he can pee on that later!...made the wee sign from cardstock..The basket is already his...

 

 I found a place for my 5 wee guys I got in the secondhand shop for £1.00 each!!! They are hanging perfectly from my bedroom chandelier..

 All pretty and sparkly at night!!! I havent finished but sometimes things look so pretty you just have to take a photo haha

 

 

This was another of last years Christmas makes...I made this sign from some broken letter bunting...I drilled holes in the side of the wood...glued on the letters and pushed through some fairy lights..in the bedroom this year. so cosy when its switched on...but I had to leave the lights off for the picture.

 

 

 I made the J from an embroidery ring & the Y from some hardboard.......A little Joy in the hallway!

 

I was standing up on my stool doing some hallway decs when I looked over and seen this face! I couldnt resist a picture!!!

 

 

My nutcracker re-vamp...I made him last year but I still love him...I just stripped off his beard and bits...added some ornate wee bits and painted him ..

This year im not putting up any big trees...I just dont feel like it!! I spray painted some branches and hung some of last years baubles on them :)

 

 

Stole some of these branches from a garden whilst out walking the dog yesterday haha...Painted this old frame I had got from a charity shop yellow...used my deer head I had in another room..decorated with some craft beads I had laying around....cost me nothing ...fab!

 

 

I made these little hardboard stars last year in a distressed white finish. This year ive used black glitter paint to add a bit of sparkle to the Christmas bedroom decor. 

 

I used some embroidery rings I had in the studio room attached them together with some wire and cut some Eucalyptus from my tree and I now have my swag, bunting lol. This year im just going to use everything I have already...Im not buying anything for Christmas...its all going to be recycled and handmade! I do have some things I have bought over the years but im not spending a penny on Christmas this year...I think you get more creative when you dont spend any money on new!

I think I may be starting to get in the mood hehehe..I broke out the Christmas pillows!!! I can feel a wee bit of inspiration coming on..not much just a wee bit...nope its gone hahaaha

 OOOh how gorgeous are these wee guys...I found these in a New/Second hand shop in Selkirk (Where I live), The lady said she got them from an estate that day..The box said 2 for £1.00 but she charged me £1.00 each...was a bit agitated but didnt say anything! they are still worth it! Now if these dont put me in the decorating mood I dont know what will!!!
